Unable to launch AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe after installing the ArcGIS 9.3.1 Desktop Download Layer Package Patch

Description

After downloading the ArcGIS 9.3.1 Desktop Download Layer Package Patch, launching AdvancedArcMapSettings.exe generates the following error: "Automation error. ClassFactory cannot supply requested class".[O-Image]

Cause

There was an issue with the ArcGIS 9.3.1 Desktop Download Layer Package Patch prior to July 2, 2009.

Workaround

If the ArcGIS 9.3.1 Desktop Download Layer Package Patch was downloaded prior to July 2, 2009, re-download and install it from the link in the Related Information section below.
