U.S. Streets for Hawaii and Hawaiian streets in U.S. Major Roads are in the wrong datum.

Description

The 2003 StreetMap USA data for Hawaii is in the Old Hawaiian Datum. This refers to the hi.edg and usa_Mr.edg files. The data should be in the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD 1983). These data sets are located on the ArcGIS StreetMap USA DVD and the ESRI Data & Maps 2003 CD.

Cause

The Hawaiian data for StreetMap USA was supplied in Old Hawaiian Datum. The data was not converted to NAD 1983.

Workaround

1. Copy the StreetMap USA data from the DVD or CD to a local hard drive. This is recommended in the ArcGIS StreetMap USA Help to improve StreetMap performance by using the data locally to run StreetMap.
2. Download the StreetMap USA 2003 Patch (Old Hawaiian Datum to NAD83). See Related Information.
3. Extract the hi.edg and usa_mr.edg files and replace the older files with the same name on the hard drive.
