Rasters in coordinate systems that use NAD 1927 are not projected on the fly correctly

Description

Rasters stored in a coordinate systems using a datum of NAD 1927 are not projected on the fly correctly when the data frame is displayed in a coordinate system using a datum of NAD 1983.

Cause



This is a known issue.

Workaround



** This issue is addressed in ArcGIS 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2).

If the Service Pack 2 is unavailable, select one of the following workarounds:

  • Set the projection of the data frame to the coordinate system of the raster.
  • Use the georeferencing tools to correctly georeference the raster to the coordinate system using NAD 83.
  • Convert the raster to a grid and project it using ArcInfo workstation.
