BUG

Raster layers that were in ArcIMS 4.0.1 map services are not in ArcIMS 9.0 map services

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

Raster layers that were used in ArcIMS 4.0.1 map services may not appear in ArcIMS 9.0 map services. This occurs when ArcIMS 4.0.1 map configuration files (.axl) are used in an ArcIMS 9.0 map service.

Cause

This will occur if data projection is requested and there is no COORDSYS defined for raster layers.

If COORDSYS is not included for an image layer, the following error will be written to the Spatial Server log file: "[ERR0957] Image layer {0} should be projected, but doesn't have a COORDSYS tag. Layer will not be drawn."

Workaround

Include the proper projected coordinate system information (COORDSYS) for each raster layer if data projection is requested.
