BUG

Geocoding in ArcIMS stops working after adding an ArcMap Service

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

**This issue has been resolved in ArcIMS 4.0.1**Geocoding using an ArcIMS service does not work after adding an ArcMap Service. When attempting to locate an address using a geocoding service an "unable to locate address" error message is received.

Cause

There is a conflict between geocoding services and ArcMap Image Services when they share the same Spatial Server.

This conflict has been identified on servers using Hebrew as the locale setting.

Workaround

Move the Virtual Servers associated with the ArcMap Services to a separate Spatial Server. Once the Virtual Servers, ImageServer and ImageServer-ArcMap, are associated with separate Spatial Servers, geocoding will function correctly.

  1. Create a new spatial server.

  2. Reconfigure the Virtual Servers such that the ArcMap and Image Virtual Servers are associated with separate Spatial Servers.
