Central Feature tool outputs incorrect results when a weight field is specified

Description

The central feature tool selects the feature that is most centrally located given a set of features. As added functionality, this tool gives the ability to weight features by a field in the feature class. However, the tool does not currently select the correct feature when a weight field is selected.

Cause

Algorithm incorrectly implemented.

Workaround

1. Download the zipped script from the link in the Related Information section.
2. Extract the script from the zip file into the ...\ArcGIS\ArcToolbox\Scripts folder. When asked if you would like to replace the existing version of the script, click Yes.
3. The Central Feature tool should now work correctly when a weight field is selected.
