BUG

Cannot rebuild network connectivity. A connected feature has inconsistent connectivity and cannot be corrected. [class name = xxx, object id = ###]

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

When using the Rebuild Connectivity tool, the following error is returned (xxx is equal to the feature class name and ### is the Object ID of the feature):"Cannot rebuild network connectivity. A connected feature has inconsistent connectivity and cannot be corrected. [class name = xxx, object id = ###]"

Cause

The Rebuild Connectivity tool is designed to correct the connectivity for features contained within or intersecting the area defined for the tool. In this case, one of the features in the area defined for the tool is connected to a feature with network inconsistencies. The inconsistent feature is outside of the area defined for the tool. The Rebuild Connectivity tool is not designed to expand its area of interest to include connected features with network inconsistencies.

Workaround

The error message includes the class name and Object ID of the connected feature that is causing the Rebuild Connectivity tool to fail. Re-run the Rebuild Connectivity tool, expanding the area of interest for the tool to include the entire feature referenced by the error. If the error is encountered again, it may be necessary to repeat the previous steps and expand the area of interest further.
