PROBLEM

Batch geocoding a geocode service returns incorrect and redundant results.

Last Published: October 1, 2025

Description

Batch geocoding a geocode service returns incorrect and redundant address candidates in the results.

Cause

If the total number of records in the primary geocode table exceeds the value in the ‘Maximum number of records to be processed in each batch job’ geocode service parameter in ArcCatalog, incorrect address candidates are returned in the geocode output results.

Solution or Workaround

1. In ArcCatalog, right-click the geocode service and select Service Properties.
2. On the left column of the Service Editor dialog box, click Parameters.
3. By default, the value in the ‘Maximum number of records to be processed in each batch job’ service parameter is set to 1000. Change it to a value greater than the total number of records in the primary geocode table.
