Are shapefiles supported as area of interest (AOI) data sources for the MPS-Atlas Map Series?

No. When creating a map series in MPS-Atlas, and selecting the areas of interest (AOI) that are being used to define the map sheets, shapefiles should not be used as the AOI data source. The AOI Data Source must be a feature class in a geodatabase.

There are no plans in the future to support shapefiles as AOI data sources.
