ArcMap freezes or crashes when manipulating the Printer and Page Setup dialog box
Description
ArcMap freezes, crashes, or appears slow when opening the Page and Printer Setup dialog box, or while changing options related to page and printer settings.
Cause
The user is printing through a Novell print server. This is a known issue.
Workaround
A patch is available at the ESRI Support Site. Navigate to http://support.esri.com and click Downloads > Patches and Service Packs > ArcView > 'ArcGIS Desktop 9.0 ArcMap Slow Page and Print Setup Dialog Patch' or click on the link in Related Information.Article ID: 000006937
