DEPRECATION

ArcGIS QuickCapture supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds = false

Last Published: May 7, 2022

Description

For compatibility with old (prior to 10.4) versions of ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS QuickCapture supports adding photos to layers configured with supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds = false.  This property has an important effect on how data, and attachments, are added into a layer. Having this property set to true is important to guarantee the most robust data upload behavior from QuickCapture when working in poor network conditions.

In early 2023 Esri ends support for working with layers where supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds = false.

Most ArcGIS layers in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise 10.4 or newer should already have supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds set to true. However, there may be exceptions and some layers must be updated.

Recommendation

Starting June 2022, ArcGIS QuickCapture designer will display a warning when a layer within the QuickCapture project is found with supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds = false. The warning provides instructions to switch supportsApplyEditsWithGlobalIds to true.

Customers are recommended to configure layers following recommendations provided by QuickCapture designer.
