PRODUCT SALES UPDATE

ArcGIS IPS Sales and Licensing Change

First Published: June 22, 2026
Last Published: June 22, 2026

Description

As of the October 2026 ArcGIS Online update and the releases of ArcGIS Pro 3.8 and ArcGIS Enterprise 12.2, indoor positioning functionality (ArcGIS IPS) will no longer be a separately licensed product. It will be included natively in ArcGIS at the Professional and Professional Plus user types. This change removes barriers to adopting indoor positioning.

Recommendation

Existing ArcGIS IPS customers will receive a three-year license extension; their access will remain active for approximately three years without requiring a renewal transaction. When existing ArcGIS IPS customers upgrade to ArcGIS Pro 3.8, releasing in November 2026, they will be able to use indoor positioning functionality without the need for a separate ArcGIS IPS license.
