ArcGIS Enterprise support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and derivatives

Last Published: November 10, 2021

Description

ArcGIS Enterprise 10.9.1 will be the last release to support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL7) and derivative Linux distributions including CentOS 7, Scientific Linux 7, and Oracle Linux 7.

ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0 and beyond will continue to support Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and Oracle Linux 8.

Recommendation

Customers using Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or a derivative distribution should plan to move to a newer and supported Linux distribution as part of, or ahead of, an upgrade to ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0 or later versions.

Note that CentOS 7 users will have to decide on a replacement distribution as CentOS 8 is no longer supported given the changes announced by Red Hat earlier in 2021. Scientific Linux 7 users must also find a suitable replacement distribution as the Scientific Linux maintainers have chosen not to create new versions beyond version 7.

Affected customers are recommended to move to a supported distribution that meets their future needs.
