ArcGIS CityEngine License Agreement dialog does not open during installation

Description

While running the installation ‘./Setup’ of ArcGIS CityEngine 2023.0 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.x, the License Agreement dialog information link does not open in the Firefox browser.

The following message is displayed in the terminal window:

“ATTENTION: default value of option mesa_gl thread overridden by environment.”

Cause

This message comes from the mesa library because Firefox overrides the default mesa_glthread envvar.
On some newer operating systems, notably RHEL9, the browser will not open the License Agreement PDF until the setup completes.

Solution or Workaround

Wait until the end of the installation process and the browser opens the link as expected.
