Description
When starting ArcGIS Pro, the application fails and returns the following error:
Error:
ArcGIS Application has stopped working

Cause
This issue typically occurs due to one or a combination of the following system requirement mismatches:
- Unsupported Operating System
The host operating system does not meet the supported Windows platform matrix required for the installed version of ArcGIS Pro. - Outdated Graphics Drivers or Hardware Constraints
The workstation relies on legacy graphics hardware, insufficient dedicated Video RAM (VRAM), or outdated display drivers that fail to initialize the software's graphics rendering engine.
Solution or Workaround
Depending on hardware constraints and organizational requirements, choose one of the following resolution paths:
Option 1: Downgrade ArcGIS Pro to a Lower Supported Version
If upgrading the system hardware or operating system is not immediately feasible:
- Uninstall ArcGIS Pro via Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Download and perform a clean install a version 1 or 2 releases lower than the currently installed version (for example, downgrade from ArcGIS Pro 3.7 to version 3.6 or 3.5) to align with existing hardware capabilities and OS limits.
- Update GPU display drivers to the latest stable release provided by the hardware manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel).
Option 2: Upgrade System Environment and Hardware
To run the target version of ArcGIS Pro successfully:
- Upgrade the workstation operating system to a version supported by the target ArcGIS Pro release.
- Ensure the display adapter meets or exceeds the minimum dedicated VRAM requirements for that version.
- Update graphics drivers to the latest stable release.
