An unexpected error has occurred when publishing a map, please check the settings and try again

Error Message

When publishing a map with the ArcGIS Publisher extension, the following error message appears:

"An unexpected error has occurred when publishing a map, please check the settings and try again".

Cause

The data frame is grouped with images and text graphics in the layout.

Solution or Workaround

Ungroup the data frame from images and text graphics in the layout. Republish the map.
