Procedure

The following steps allows the user to add the esriFieldTypeGUID and esriFieldTypeGlobalID data types to an existing Visio UML template or drawing using Visio 2003 Professional.

  1. Open the Visio template or drawing.
  2. In the Model Explorer:

    A. Select the ESRI Types folder.
    B. Right-click and select New | Datatype.
  3. This brings up the UML Datatype Properties dialog box.

    A. Select DataType for Categories.
    B. In the Name field, enter the name of the data type (esriFieldTypeGUID).
    C. There should be now changes to the rest of the categories.
    D. Click the OK button.
  4. Repeat steps 2 - 3 to add data type (esriFieldTypeGlobalID).
