Instructions provided describe how to incorporate an image service with a Web Mapping Application in ArcGIS Server.

Procedure

With ArcGIS Server 9.2, consuming an ArcGIS Image Server service in a Web Mapping Application required adding the image service to the map document and publishing the map to ArcGIS Server.

Listed below are the steps to consuming an ArcGIS Server 9.3 image service in a Web Mapping Application with high quality image results.

  1. Either when publishing an image service or viewing the properties for an existing image service, enable the WMS capability in the Capabilities section of the form/dialog box.

The service should add and allow the user to include the image service in the map application using the WMS standard. Continue building the application as desired.
