This article pertains to ArcGIS versions 9.x. Later versions of ArcGIS may contain different functionality, as well as different names and locations for menus, commands and geoprocessing tools.

Procedure

  1. Open ArcToolbox.
  2. Right-click and select New ToolBox.
  3. Rename the toolbox with a unique name.
  4. Right-click the new toolbox and select Open Model 1.
  5. Right-click in empty space and select Create Variable.
  6. Select Table or Workspace variable data type and click OK.

  1. Right-click the newly created variable and select Model Parameter.

  1. Double-click the model parameter and navigate to Database Connections.
  2. Select an existing database connection.
