Summary
To create a STAC connection with a Microsoft Planetary Computer, an .acs file is required, which cannot be generated without a token. However, the Esri GitHub page provides these .acs files.
Procedure
On GitHub
- Click the following link to open a list of .acs files: https://github.com/Esri/arcgis-for-mpc/tree/main/AMPC_Resources/ACS_Files, shown below.

- Click on the desired data source name, which leads to the option: Download raw file.

- Save the file.
On ArcGIS Pro
- Open a new Project and navigate to the Insert menu.
- On the Connections drop-down, select STAC Connection and click New STAC Connection.

- In the Create STAC Connection dialog, provide a name and select Microsoft Planetary Computer.
- Expand Cloud Storage Connection. Click the asterisk (*), and browse to the location where the .acs raw file was saved.

- Click OK and then OK again. The STAC Connection is made.

>
- Explore the STAC Connection by adding various parameters related to Date and Time, Extent, ID, etc., and add the desired dataset from the Results section, as shown in the next images.
