  1. [accuracy] A measure of the overall correctness of the reported location of an object or feature compared to its true (or accepted) location. Often determined by comparing the horizontal and vertical position provided by a GPS receiver for an object to its actual ground coordinates. Positional accuracy is typically stated as a statistical estimate.
