[mathematics]
A combination of numbers, symbols, and operators that represent a mathematical relationship or operation. Mathematical expressions can be simple or complex (involving multiple terms and operations). A common mathematical expression used in GIS is the formula for calculating the Euclidean distance between two points in 2D space: d = √((x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²)
Where:
• (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) are the coordinates of two points • d represents the distance between them
