  1. [printing] A printing device capable of producing an image on large paper or other media sized between 36 and 87 inches (91 and 220 centimeters) wide. Modern large format printers typically use inkjet printing technology to print an image on a roll of paper that is automatically cut to the desired length. Large-format printers may also be called plotters or wide-format printers.
