Acronym for International Terrestrial Reference Frame. A physical realization of a reference system, based on the modeling standards of the ITRS. The ITRF is updated periodically by the International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service (IERS) to more closely approximate ITRS standards using the latest technologies.
