A distinctive, grid-like flight pattern that is used to capture vertical features, such as buildings or sites with elevation changes. Crosshatch surveys consist of flying a UAS (or drone) repeatedly over an area so that the flight paths frequently intersect at 90-degree angles (or crosshatches); the camera is set at an oblique angle. The resulting output of a crosshatch survey is typically detailed multiangle imagery and sensor data that is used in 3D models, such as point clouds and textured meshes.
