An equal-area, polyhedral map projection that substantially preserves the size and shape of all continents and oceans while reducing distortion. It divides the spherical surface of the earth into 96 triangles that are transferred to a tetrahedron, maintaining area proportions. The AuthaGraph projection was invented in 1999 by the Japanese architect Hajime Narukawa (1971 – ).
