While utilizing the option of sharing, a stand-alone ArcGIS server accessed on a web adaptor URL throws an error in connecting to Portal for ArcGIS, if both components are installed on the same machine.

Workaround

Access ArcGIS server or Portal for ArcGIS without the web adaptor (using 6443, 6080 and 7443, 7080).ORUse a web adaptor for ArcGIS server or Portal for ArcGIS installed on a different host. This can be achieved by adding a different web server or adding another instance on Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and configure the web adaptor on it.
