Bug
When using the Split tool to split a feature selection in two or more features in ArcGIS Pro, only one of the features is maintained after splitting. The other features are removed.

Additional Information
If the feature is deleted from the original layer, the feature is also deleted from the selection layer and cannot be split.Workaround
Use the Feature Class To Feature Class tool on the polygon selection to transform the polygon into a feature class before using the Split tool.
