Bug

When using the Shortest Path tool on the Trace Network tab, a circular route is returned that goes from A to B and back to A, rather than a linear route from A to B. This circular route appears for both 'downstream' and 'upstream' but does not for 'no direction'; for 'no direction', a linear A to B route appears as expected.

Additional Information

This is currently as-designed and a known limitation. The Shortest Path trace does not provide a method to specify the source and destination starting points. As a result, when calculating the shortest path in a loop using Upstream or Downstream path as input for the Path Direction, run multiple, separate shortest path queries to return the different results. For example, in a loop, run two shortest path queries; one returns Path X, and the other flips the source and destination to create Path Y.
