When using the polygon feature class as Input Location Feature to the Sample tool, the following error message is returned, "999999: Something unexpected caused the tool to fail."

The issue non-reproducible in newer builds of ArcGIS Pro

Workaround

  • Use raster which is clipped to the bounding box as Input Location Raster or Feature.
  • Run the Sample tool with the Process as multidimensional parameter box unchecked.
