When using the ArcGIS Experience Builder Search widget with a locator and a Flash action configured, the search result is not highlighted or flashes as the Search widget does not return a pin.

Additional Information

This behavior is as designed; the Action data of the flash message action is left empty (no valid layer inside the map widget to flash onto), and does now work. To make it work, add a web map like World Cities, and then use the city name as the field connection to make the flash work.
