Bug

When using the advanced symbol size, expression, for a character marker symbol with a halo, the halo is displayed with an offset.

Workaround

Right click on the Layer Name > properties > symbology tab > click on the symbol > edit symbol > change the type to Character Maker Symbol > choose the hollow circle symbol (row 1, column 9) > make the size 8 > click the Mask tab > enable Halo > click the symbol button and change the color to something other than white. On the layer properties window > symbology tab > advanced button > size option > click the calculator button > enter the following calculation [CheckPoint_Zone] / 2.83 *10 > OK. Open the symbol properties again and copy and paste the symbol layer (there will be 2 copies of the same layer that appear). Apply the settings and OKOpen the symbol properties; copy and paste the symbol layer (there will be 2 copies of the same layer that appear).
