When using the Advanced Drawing Options in ArcMap to create layer masking with a specified layer in a map document, the masking is not recognized when the map is exported to a PDF document.

Use clipping on the data frame of the map document. To do so, follow the steps below:1. Right-click the data frame and choose Properties.2. Click the Data Frame tab, and select 'Clip to shape' in the Clip Options drop-down list.3. Click Specify Shape, select 'Outline of Features' for clipping, and click OK.4. Click Exclude Layers, and select the layer to be excluded from clipping.5. Export the map to PDF.Steps to Reproduce
