When using MediaLayer to display a high resolution image in ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 4.x, it returns the error, "Element cannot be displayed."

This behavior is as designed. MediaLayer is intended for quick placement of media on a map and is not intended for high accuracy or high resolution data. The images are too large and above the documented safe limits.Workaround
