When using a touch screen to pan a view in ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.8 on Surface Pro 3 using Mozilla Firefox web browser, Windows 10 freezes with the error message, "Invalid Pointer Id."

Duplicate of BUG-000116101. This issue is fixed in ArcGIS API for JavaScript 4.9.

Workaround

  • Use a web browser other than Mozilla Firefox.
  • Use the mouse to pan instead of using a touch screen.
