When using a secure service with Web AppBuilder, an error message is returned, "Unable to access the authentication service" when credentials are provided during the configuration phase.

Workaround

When using either Chrome or Firefox, access the REST endpoint of the secure service prior to configuring Web AppBuilder, and the service is displayed.In either Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer, the service is displayed once Web AppBuilder is launched.
