Additional Information

This is not a bug. The software is working as expected. When the metadata is exported from the geodatabase, the method used by the customer involves converting the content from the ArcGIS metadata format to the FGDC CSDGM XML metadata format. The Process Steps, which are part of the items lineage, are exported and imported later to the ArcGIS Online item although this is not mentioned in the provided steps. It is true that the Lineage Statement that the customer provided in the original item metadata is not exported from the geodatabase when the metadata is converted to the FGDC CSDGM metadata format. The Lineage Statement is a metadata element that is a part of the ISO 19115 metadata standard and is not included in the FGDC CSDGM metadata standard. There is nowhere for this information to exist in the FGDC CSDGM XML metadata format created in step 4.
