When uploading a zip file containing a Z-enabled shapefile or file geodatabase feature class to ArcGIS Online, and publishing as a feature service, new features cannot be added to the feature service in Collector for ArcGIS (iOS) in offline mode, and the following error message is returned, "The shape must have a Z value."

Collector Classic for ArcGIS (iOS)
Operating System Version
This issue was not reproducible when tested by the development team. Issues may be given this status when they cannot be reproduced or are no longer relevant in a development version of the software, but a specific fix was not installed to address the issue. The issue's Additional Information section may contain further explanation.
This behavior is addressed in Collector for ArcGIS 17.0.4. When working with Z-enabled layers in Collector for ArcGIS, either online or offline, the layers must contain a default Z value to avoid receiving the error message.
Option 1: Publish Z-enabled data from ArcMap to ArcGIS Online.
Option 2: Create a new shapefile or feature class without Z-values enabled.
