Bug

When two or more Viewer windows are open with ArcMap, one of the Viewer windows will intermittently go blank when making selections on larger datasets.

Note that ArcGIS 10.8.2 is the current release of ArcGIS Desktop and will enter Mature Support in March 2024 (https://support.esri.com/en-us/products/arcmap/life-cycle). There are no plans to release an ArcGIS Desktop 10.9, and we recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro. See Migrate from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro (https://www.esri.com/en-us/arcgis/products/arcgis-pro/resources/migrate) for more information.

Workaround

  • Pan or Zoom in the Viewer window to have it re-draw the map in the viewer. 
  • Issue does not occur when working with multiple map windows in ArcGIS Pro.
