When the 'Zoom to Selected Feature' button is added to a tool bar, using the customize feature stays grayed out and does not work.

Workaround

The ‘Zoom to Selected Feature’ function works when using it from the individual layer. Right click on the layer > Selections > 'Zoom to Selected Feature'This way works fine.
