Bug
When the Copy tool is used in ArcGIS Pro ModelBuilder with input data sourced from an SDE database and inline variable substitution applied to both the input and output parameters, the output feature class name is automatically modified to append a period (.) followed by the input data’s original name.

Workaround
The behavior is not reproducible if no inline variable substitution is used on the output data path.
