Bug
When text is copied and pasted into a geoprocessing parameter text box, if another parameter or empty space is not clicked before clicking Run, the parameter value is cleared or reset to the previous value.

Workaround
Type the Sequence Start ID parameter value manually rather than copying and pasting from another app.
