Additional Information

We are phasing out ArcMap, only bugs with extremely high-priority issue will be addressed in a patch in the future. Please use the workaround for the issue.

Workaround

  1. Use the 'Copy Raster' tool for the options to select the output image pixel type. Refer to https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/tool-reference/data-management/copy-raster.htm.
  2. Use the model builder to create a workflow to extract the data, unzip it, and copy the 16-bit image back to 8 -bit image. Refer to https://geoapplications.wordpress.com/2011/06/16/arcgis_unzip_geoprocessingscript_tool/.
  3. Right-click the raster in ArcMap Data > Export and use the 'Use Renderer' and 'Force RGB'. There is the switch from 16bit to 8bit at the time.
  4. Work with ArcGIS Pro as it is by default creating 24-bit images from the same tool.
