When reordering fields in ArcGIS Pro 2.7.3 and saving the edits, the changes are not retained after removing and re-adding the layer back to the map.

Additional Information

When modofying the field order through the Fields view, it is a property of the layer, not the data source. When removing and re-adding a feature class to the map, it is a new layer, and the field order matches the data source. If there is a preferred field order other than the current data source, run the Feature Class to Feature Class geoprocessing tool and change the field order.
