When publishing from ArcGIS Pro to ArcGIS Online, if the 'Use symbol types compatible with all clients' check box for the feature layer is left unchecked, clicking the inside of a polygon feature does not display the feature pop-up.

Additional Information
When a symbol does not have a fill defined, then the polygon fill will not be selectable in the map. To have a selectable fill, ensure that the fill is defined and set the Transparency to zero. This ensures that the layer is unable to be seen in the map but still be recognized by the hitTest.Workaround
Instead of disabling the Solid fill layer, set the Transparency to zero. This ensures that the layer is not be seen in the map but still be recognized by the hitTest.
When publishing to ArcGIS Online from ArcGIS Pro, check the 'Use symbol types compatible with all clients' check box regardless of working in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer or Map Viewer Classic for the pop-ups to be displayed.
