Additional Information

When viewing the published scene, Scene Viewer opens a local scene. When viewing the published layer, Scene Viewer takes the default for this spatial reference (Web Mercator) and opens a global scene (https://developers.arcgis.com/javascript/latest/api-reference/esri-views-SceneView.html#viewing-modes). The reason why the two scenes look different is the following: The local scene is projected to a plane, therefore, the further the North, the more the map gets stretched or distorted. The 3D Symbols on the other hand don't change the size to match the stretching of the map. Therefore when opening the same layer in a global scene, the map is not stretched anymore and the symbols appear closer to each other. Open an empty local scene, and then load the scene layer. There is currently no option to let the size of the symbol adapt to the distortion of the map.
