When publishing a hosted tile layer from ArcGIS Pro 2.1.2 to ArcGIS Online, the same setting using the Share As Web Layer option and the Create Map Tile Package tool results in a notable size difference.

Additional Information

The issue cannot be reproduced. The cache size is identical for web tile layers cached locally and tile packages created with the geoprocessing tool.

Workaround

The Create Map Tile Package tool is a better option since a smaller output tile layer is created using the same setting.
