Bug

When installing Desktop through Group Policy and Orca with a transformation file, desktop10.pth, a file from the Python component is installed on the default drive (the drive with the most available free space) x:\Python26\ArcGIS10.0\Lib\site-packages\ instead of the location specified.

Workaround

Follow these steps to specify Python InstallDir in Transform. Steps have changed at 10.0.1) Open the Desktop Setup.msi in Orca and start a new Transform.2) In the Custom Action table. Find the row for the Action, ESRI_SET_INSTALLDIR1_UI. Change the value in the Target column to the location where Python will be installed.3) In the InstallExecuteSequence, add a new row. For the new row, the Action should be ESRI_SET_INSTALLDIR1_UI. The value for Sequence should be 1004. A value for Condition is not needed.4) In the InstallExecuteSequence table, change the sequence for SetPyDirProp.2759B4F6_8B70_493D_BA61_C5A595064273 to be 1010.
