When editing the local copy of a hosted feature service using the 'Cut Polygons' tool, the following error message is returned, "The Cut Polygons task could not be completed. Field is not editable."

Additional Information
ArcGIS Desktop (including ArcGIS Engine and ArcObjects) is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026. Mature support means the end of functionality-based patches and hotfixes; therefore, this issue will not be addressed. There are no plans for future releases of ArcGIS Desktop, and it is recommended that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro. Right-click the Shape__Area and Shape__Length fields from the hosted feature layer's attribute table (fields with double underscores), and delete the fields. Syncing the edits complete successfully.
