When editing the description attribute of an editable layer created within an ArcGIS Online web map based on the Map Notes template, if the text from a Microsoft Word document is copied to the pop-up within Firefox then the pop-up is viewed within Internet Explorer 9, the pop-up shows the XML coding information rather than the text with formatting.

Workaround

Use Chrome or Internet Explorer to construct all the pop-up text if copying from a Word document or use another text editing program to copy text to the pop-up using any browser.
